Morris, Joseph Hewitt –

Son of Andrew and Henrietta Morris, of 124, St. George’s Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Later of 7, New Hall Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Enlisted as Private 2544, 6th Bn., Royal Scots in January 1915. Promoted Lance Corporal 275594, 5th/6th Bn., Royal Scots. Commissioned 31/10/1917.

Scholes, James Frederick –

Son of Mrs. Scholes, of 29, Wallace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3921, 1st/5th Bn., Seaforth Highlanders. Brother serving in the Navy.

Sharpe, James Arthur –

Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Edinburgh since 06/12/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 08/01/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
