Son of Richard Baxter and Alice Thornley (nee Hart), of 31, Rosehill Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Lodged with Mrs. Hulme, at 4, Pool Terrace, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire and was brought up at Eden’s Orphanage. Drowned in the sinking of the transport Royal Edward. Reported as King’s Own Scottish Borderers in local newspapers.

Husband of Ellen Tilston, of 27, New York Street, Seedley, Manchester. Worked for Salford Corporation Tramways Department. Formerly 24240, Royal Flying Corps.

Toolan, Thomas –

Husband of Edith Toolan (nee Connolly), of 8, Cobden Street, Pendlebury, Lancashire.

Topp, Vincent –

Son of William and Elizabeth Topp (nee Harrison); husband of Elizabeth Topp (nee Wilding). Gassed and captured prisoner of war and held in Germany.

Travey, John –

Of 63, Top-o’th’-Brow, Harwood, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915.

Tudge, Joseph –

Son of William Henry and Elizabeth Tudge, of 91, Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

Varle, Albert Edward –

Son of the late John Varle and of Catherine Varle (nee Fraser) of 3, Pike Road, Bolton, Lancashire; brother of John William Varle, of 24, Peabody Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Worked as a postman for a time in Bolton. Enlisted December 1905. Formerly 1813, Northumberland Fusiliers.

Son of Thomas and Catherine Veal, of 94, Green Lane, Patricroft, Eccles, Lancashire; husband of Mary Palmer (formerly VEAL), of “Monton Holme” 59, St. David’s Road North, St. Anne’s-on-the-Sea, Lancashire. Formerly 32646, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Waddilove, George –

Son of Thomas and Sarah Waddilove, of 10, Holme Street, Eagley, Turton, Lancashire; husband of Florence Waddilove, of 438, Darwen Road, Dunscar, Turton, Lancashire, formerly of 46, Primrose Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded 21/08/1915. Buried at Sea.

Walch, John –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walch, of 3, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Lancashire. Wounded in May 1918.
