Brown, W H –

Second son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown, of the One Horse Shoe Hotel, 102, Market Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Suffered severe gunshot wound to the left leg on 12/04/1918. Brother A C Brown with the Monmouthshire Regiment.

Catterall, Harry –

Son of Joseph and Sarah Jane Catterall, of 10, Blindsill Road, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. In Scotland. Formerly Private 18308, 8th Bn., Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Glencorse since 11/03/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 12/03/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29). Medal Card states “Deserter 04/01/1919” and shows Cameronians.
