Re-enlisted May 1915 as Private 18888, 3rd Bn., South Lancashire Regiment. Caught on multiple occasions as a deserter / absentee appearing before Bolton Magistrates to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25 & JBO/1/26).

Son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Lee, of 4, Nut Street, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 21146, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

Lilley, Walter –

Son of Mrs. Lilley, of Lumber Lane, Worsley, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1916. Formerly 4/28105, Lancashire Fusiliers. Served in Egypt with the Garrison Bn., Cheshire Regiment. Died from gas poisoning and wounds.

Son of George and Ruth Lowe, of 21, Lonsdale Street, Crown Street, Liverpool, Lancashire.

Lunney, Peter –

Son of Thomas and Anne Lunney, of 53, Plover Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted 1914. Formerly 39563, Royal Army Medical Corps. Served three years and eight months in Egypt, before being transferred to the Western Front in May 1918.

Maguire, John –

Husband of Mary Maguire (nee McNamara), of 4, Halliwell Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 17, Horace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Attached to the 105th Trench Mortar Battery. Wounded by a piece of shrapnel on the head in August 1917.
