Oldham, John –

Appeared before Bolton Magistrates 31/12/1915 as an absentee from Prees Heath Camp, Shropshire and for assault on PC 120 Crompton on 27/12/1915. Sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Palmer, Jack –

Son of Mr. J. Palmer, formerly of Bolton and tenant of the Royal Oak Hotel, Neston, Cheshire.

Parsons, Frederick Beany –

Son of Mary Eliza Parsons (nee Bottomley), of 6, Church Road, Walkden, Lancashire, and the late William Parsons.

Payne, Thomas –

Son of Harry and Elizabeth Payne, of 8, Somerset Place, Ashton-on-Mersey, Cheshire; husband of Elsie Payne, of 6360, Minerva Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.

Penlington, James –

Son of James and Ellen Penlington, of 28, Battenberg Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1916. Formerly 49414, King’s Liverpool Regiment.

Percival, William –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Percival, of 120, Worsley Road, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1917. One of ten men killed when a shell burst in the billet.

Pickup, Cyril –

Son of James Pickup, of 54, Adswood Lane East, Cale Green, Stockport, Cheshire.

Porter, Richard –

Son of William and Annie Porter; husband of Ada Porter, of 15, Jackson Street, Peter Street, Leigh, Lancashire.

Preston, John –

Husband of Mrs. Preston (nee Tyldesley), of 81, Bolton Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly 22390, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing since 28/06/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Price, James –

Son of James and Ellen Price, of 64, Gorton Street, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Killed when a shell burst and caught him in the back.
