Higgins, Thomas –

Brother of Mrs. E. H. Smith, of 37, Hennon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Attached 8th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

Hill, Alfred –

Son of Mrs. Sarah Ann Hill, of 63, Croston Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded and captured in October 1914 and held as prisoner of war at Doeberitz Camp.

Holden, William –

Husband of Harriett Holden, of 40, Whittaker Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 17198, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Killed instantly when hit in the head by a shell fragment.

Holden, Robert Fenton –

Husband of Mary Ann Holden (nee Stuttard), of 54, Balshaw Street, Deane Road, Bolton. Formerly 6331, 3rd Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers, time expired after 12 years service. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Reported as John in BC.

Of 21, Ash Street, Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. Caught aged 23 as an absentee from Knowsley Park, Prescot since 29/03/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 04/04/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Husband of Frances B. Holmes, of 659, Liverpool Road, Peel Green, Patricroft, Lancashire. Formerly 7101, Lancashire Fusiliers.

Holt, Thomas –

Of 2, Miles Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 09/10/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Holt, Frank –

Son of James and Mary Holt, of 10, Baker Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Formerly Driver, Royal Field Artillery. In 1915 he was training mules when one stood on his foot causing injuries which eventially led to his death. Home service only. Interred in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard on his 23rd birthday, 22/11/1917. Brothers Albert and James both served in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Of 11, Rumworth Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 31 as an absentee from Grantham since 28/03/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 02/04/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
