Son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephens, of 121, Thynne Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Wounded by gunshots to the chest 24/07/1917.

Stewart, Peter –

Formerly employed as a goods checker by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company. Formerly Private 9248, Lancashire Fusiliers. Wounded by gunshot in the face and admitted to 8th General Hospital, Rouen on 21/09/1915. Previously served in the South African campaign. Reported as F Stewart in local newspapers.

Stones, Joseph –

Son of George T. and Jane E. Stones, of 318, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914. Formerly 025075, Royal Army Service Corps. Died of severe wounds to the chest received 26/06/1918, and pneumonia, at 55th General Hospital, Boulogne, France.

Strickleton, Alexander –

Of 3, Fairclough Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 20 as an absentee from Saltburn since 09/10/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 17/10/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
