Of 63, St. John Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Formerly 4986, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Hutchinson, George Knight MacGowan –

Second son of the late Mr. William Hutchinson, of the Bolton Waterworks Department, and of Mrs. Hutchinson, of Beverley Mount, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1884-1887). An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Previously served as Private 2644 in the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry in the South African Campaign.

Ireland, Norman –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ireland, of Lancaster, Lancashire, and formerly of 28, Hughes Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Brownlow Fold Council School. Wounded and in hospital at Perth in June 1918.

Openshaw, Robert –

Son of John and Mary Ellen Openshaw, of Davenport Farm, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire.

Spencer, Willie –

Son of John William Spencer and Keziah Spencer (nee Cripps), of 5, Mount Pleasant, Edgworth, Turton, Lancashire.

Stones, Thomas –

Son of James Stones, J.P., M.P., and of Betsy Stones, of Sunnyside, Highfield Road, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Employed in the secretary’s department of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Hunt’s Bank, Manchester prior to enlistment. Formerly 21st Bn., Royal Fusiliers. Seved in France and Italy, and had been recommended for a commission shortly before his death. Memorial in Farnworth (St. James) Churchyard.
