Gooden, John James –

Eldest of six sons of Gunner Joseph Gooden, Royal Field Artillery and Mary Ellen Gooden, of 38, Nuttall Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1915. Wounded in August 1916 and lost his left ear.

Goodison, A –

Husband of Mrs. Goodison, of 10, Old Pole, Walkden, Lancashire. Wounded by gunshot in the back 21/09/1917. Previously wounded six weeks before, this second wounding occuring on his first day back in the trenches.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Gradwell, of 128, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1916.

Gratrix, Herbert –

Of 103, Denton Road, Manchester, Lancashire. Caught aged 22 as an absentee from Lancaster since 28/09/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 03/10/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Husband of Mrs. Green, of 199, Manchester Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1916. Formerly 1st Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Captured 09/04/1918 slightly wounded and prisoner of war.
