Healey, Joseph –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Healey, of 34, Nuttall Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted as Private 5642, 5th Bn, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported as possibly the youngest Sergeant in the Army at just over 17 years old. Promoted to Lance Corporal a few weeks after joining 28/09/1915, to Corporal on 16/10/1915, and to Sergeant in 29/12/1915. One of three brothers to serve. Reverted to Private on transfer to King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment 29/04/1916.

Heaton, Samuel –

Son of Thomas and Maria Heaton, of Farnworth; husband of Annie Heaton, of 12, Matthew Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Died of Malaria in Salonika.

Helm, George –

Son of George and Mary Helm; husband of Catherine Helm (nee Regan) – married 27/04/1917 at Ss. Peter and Paul’s R.C. Church, Bolton, Lancashire. Died aged 31 years in Prestwich Asylum, Lancashire. Interred at Heaton Cemetery on 13/01/1921 from 14, Crowther Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Surname sometimes also recorded as HELME.

Helme, Harold –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Helme, of 37, Cloister Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by William Walker & Sons at Rose Hill Tannery. Enlisted November 1915, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Heney, Frank –

Son of Thomas and Minnie Heney, of 37, School Hill, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 08/05/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Of 14, Higson Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Captured prisoner of war.

Son of Peter and Nancy Heywood, of 20, Breightmet Fold, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 29, Fearnysides, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. The third son to fall within 13 months.

Son of William and Ann Hibbert, of 2, Gore Hill Terrace, Pendleton, Lancashire. Formerly 4910, Lancashire Fusiliers.

Hicks, James –

Of 17, Beatrice Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Wounded in the thigh during a charge September 1916.
