Rothwell, Harry –

Son of Alfred and Emily Rothwell (nee Horrocks), of 44, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. Formerly Privatew 5643, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. He had been officially reported as having been killed, but turned up alive with a group of returned prisoners of war.

Caught aged 46 as an absentee from Parkeston Camp since 11/09/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 26/09/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
