Of Independent Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 11, Kay Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted July 1915. Caught aged 46 as an absentee from Plymouth since 20/06/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 25/06/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).
