Bridson, Charles Edward Ridgway –

Son of Edward Ridgway Bridson and Amy Ridgway Bridson, of 5, St. Margaret’s Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire. An Old Boy of Bolton Grammar School. Attached 8th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

Brierley, William –

Son of John and Ann Brierley, of 5, Grove Street, Deansgate, Manchester, Lancashire.

Briggs, Charles –

Son of Robert (stepfather) and Ellen Lonsdale (formerly Briggs, nee Lees), of 38, Water Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Samuel Briggs; husband of Florence Annie Briggs (nee Beresford), of 39, Water Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 10, Gregson Field, Bolton, Lancashire. Served in India and France. Discharged with Tubercular Disease of the Lungs. Died aged 34 years in October 1918 and interred in Halliwell (St. Peter) Churchyard 24/10/1918.

Britton, John –

Of 3, Thornbank, Pocket, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 24, Clough Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915. Caught aged 20 as a deserter from Lancaster since 05/10/1915 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 14/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Bromilow, Daniel –

Son of George and Mrs. Bromilow, of Latham Row, Horwich, Lancashire. Reported missing aged 20. Name mistakenly reported as BROMLEY in BJ&G. Birth and Enlistment wrongly recorded as “Harwich” on SDGW.

Husband of Lilian M Bibby (formerly Bromley). Died at the Stanley Hospital, Liverpool.

Brooker, John Arthur (Teddy) –

Only son of Harriot Harrop, of 16, Hey Cottage, Ainsworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 41, School Hill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Killed by shell fire. Also known as ‘Teddy’.
