Of 29, Candow Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Caught aged 23 as a deserter from Halsham Camp, Ottingham since 22/06/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 13/07/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).

Promoted from Lance Corporal to Corporal 16/08/1915. Commissioned 30/01/1918, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed by a shell.
