Ellis, George –

Husband of Mrs. Ellis, of 2, Sand Street, Farnworth, Lancashire Reported missing since 02/12/1917, and subsequently presumed killed.

Ellis, Bernard –

Son of James Ellis and Eveline Darcy Ellis (nee French), of Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Edith Alice Ellis (nee Smith), of 23, Irma Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 38, Gibbon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a labourer at the works of Messrs. Hick Hargreaves. Sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and died at No.17 Casualty Clearing Station. Previous service 17/01/1908 to 09/04/1911 as Rifleman 8559, King’s Royal Rifle Corps, largely in India, discharged.

Son of Canon Edward Francis Forrest and Florence Sarah Forrest, of St. John’s Vicarage, Pemberton, Wigan. Previously employed as a bank clerk at Hindley. Formerly PS/6963, Royal Fusiliers. Commissioned 25/09/1916.
