Jackson, Richard –

Husband of Mrs. Jackson, of 3, Rivington Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 79, Brackley Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly Private 7978, 3rd Bn. and 23rd Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers. Wounded in August and November 1914, and by an explosive bullet in the right knee November 1917. Recommeded for Distinguished Service Medal. Previously served in the South African Campaign.

Formerly Private 2680, Manchester Regiment. Surrendered aged 45 as an absentee from 35th General Hospital, France since 22/02/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 26/02/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
