Youngest of four soldier sons of John and Mary Fisher, of 280, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 2278, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Received a shrapnel wound to left ankle 10/08/1915. His brothers Albert, John (Jack) and Matthew all fell.

Husband of Margaret Fitzharris, of 66, Lum Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previous service as Gunner 56488, Royal Field Artillery, enlisted at Bolton 14/12/1914 and discharged 17/12/1914 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Re-enlisted as Private 3882 / 241710, 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
