Son of George and Elizabeth Manning, of 102, Nansen Street, Seedley, Salford, Lancashire, and formerly of 22, Buxton Street, Pendleton, Lancashire.

Mansley, John –

Son of Mr. Richard Mansley, of 38, Angle Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. One of four brothers serving. Invalided home due to frostbite.

Manuel, Frank –

Son of Enoch and Jane Manuel, of 25, Johnson Street, Bank Lane, Pendlebury, Salford, Lancashire.

Markland, Frank –

Son of William and Mary Markland, of 53, Leigh Road, Boothstown, Lancashire.

Markland, James –

Son of Mr. Markland, of 6, Laburnum Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded at Harcourt at the battle of Cambrai and reported missing 26/08/1914. Subsequently prisoner of war in Germany. Lost his right leg below the knew.

Marlow, George –

Son of George and Emily Marlow, of 30, Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam, Northwich, Cheshire. Worked for Salford Corporation Education Department.

Marsden, Harry –

Third son of Malachi and Alice Marsden (nee Ramsbottom), of 96, Darley Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 9, Prosperous Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Served in India before the outbreak of the Great War. Slightly wounded on 25/04/1915, rejoining his unit on 26/05/1915.

Marsden, James –

Son of Malachi and Alice Marsden (nee Ramsbottom), of 96, Darley Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 9, Prosperous Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Louisa Marsden (nee Webster), of 13, Raby Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

Marsden, James –

Of Bury, Lancashire. Caught aged 35 as a deserter from Barrow since 01/04/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 03/04/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Marsden, Percival Thomas –

Son of John and Margaret Marsden, of “Fern Cottage”, 13 Preston Road, Levenshulme, Manchester, Lancashire. Recorded as Thomas Percival Marsden on CWGC.

Marsden, Barcroft –

Husband of the late Elizabeth T. Marsden. Native of Bolton, Lancashire. Brother of Mrs. Richardson, of 16, Lyon Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported as Sergeant in BJ&G.

Marsh, W E –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Marsh, of 301, Bolton Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1916. Wounded in the arm by an explosive bullet.

Marsh, William –

Son of Thomas Marsh, of 22, Woodside Square, Darcy Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Died following surgery having suffered a strain during training in Yorkshire.
