Son of Thomas and Ann Battersby, of 38, Bertrand Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded with a broken leg caused by a bullet at Roye 14/08/1918. Gassed and in hospital in France November 1918.

Battersby, John –

Husband of Mary Battersby, of 35, Parliament Hill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 9, Mary Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Served seven years in the Lancashire Fusiliers. Committed suicide aged 42 years whilst home on sick furlough on 16/02/1915 and interred 20/02/1915 in Bolton (Heaton) Cemetery in grave CE. 3. G7. 64.
