Third son of Richard and Mary Ramsden, of 70, Eldon Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of Harwood, Lancashire.

Rankine, William –

Of 7, St. Helena Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 23, King Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 32 as an absentee from Barrow since 31/05/1915 and again since 01/05/1916. Caught again as an absentee from Kinmel Park Convalescent Camp, Rhyl since 07/09/1916, and from Barrow since 14/09/1916, and 27/09/1916. Appeared before Bolton Magistrates 04/06/1915, 02/05/1916, 07/09/1916, 15/09/1916, 30/09/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26 & JBO/1/27).
