Son of Mr. and Mrs. Riley, of 13, Clifton Street, Kearsley, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Riley, of 28, Lord Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Captured prisoner of war 25/04/1918 held at Limburg. St. Gregory’s R.C. Church, Farnworth.

Of 23, Brown Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915. Caught as an absentee from Bury since 02/07/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 06/07/1915 for this and for assaulting PC 110 Garner on 05/07/1915 and sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
