Son of Mary Eatough, of 11, The Avenue, Lord Street, Westhoughton, Lancashire, and the late John Eatough; husband of Lilly Hibbert (formerly Eatough nee Borsay), of 36, Dijon Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 14, Burlington Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 24/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Reported to have been shot in the neck whilst captured prisoner of war, presumably whilst attempting escape.

Of 51, King Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Caught aged 27 as a deserter from Salisbury Plain since 10/11/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 02/12/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
