Son of Robert and Mary Ann Hart, of 29, Avenue Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted as a Driver 709 in the 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery 20/04/1911. Mobilised for war service August 1914, and discharged as time expired 28/04/1916 as acting Bombardier. He re-enlisted in the Lancashire Fusiliers. St. Barnabas Church.

Of 37, Harris Street, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 17/09/1914 and confirmed prisoner of war in Germany held at Sennelager bei Paderborn. Previously served in the South African Campaign.
