Jarvis, Richard –

Of Lever Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Wounded. Listed as Richard JERVIS in local newspapers.

Jefferson, Francis Arthur –

Son of James H. and Ethel May Jefferson, of Ulverston, Lancashire. Later resided at Farnworth, Lancashire. Died on 04 September 1982 aged 61 at Bolton Infirmary by suicide; he threw himself under a train during a deep depression following the theft of his V.C.

Son of William and Elizabeth Ann Jeffries, and 25, Buxton Street, Pendleton, Lancashire.

Jepson, Edward –

Prior to enlistment Edward had worked for Manchester Corporation Cleansing Department. He had been educated at St Joseph’s School, West Craven Street, and had been a member of the territorials for a number of years prior to the war. He lived at 112 Tatton Street, Salford, Lancashire, with his sister Maria and his brother in law John Lee who also died in action.
