Barnes, George Le Maire –

Son of Harold Alfred and Mary Elizabeth Barnes (nee Gwyther); husband of Edith Barnes (nee Cropper). Gazetted Second Lieutenant, July 1917.

Challinor, Edward –

Of 14, Albert Road, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 12, Westbourne Road, Birkdale, Lancashire. Served on the council as an Alderman. Formerly Captain in the West Lancashire Transport Section of the Army Service Corps Territorial Force. Relinquished this commission March 1916 owing to ill health, with hopes to resume once passed fit again by the medical board. Replaced the late Major James Young in command of the 17th (Bolton) Bn., Lancashire Volunteer Regiment in March 1918. Two brothers killed.

Kirkman, Albert Edward –

Of 61, Chalfont Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1915, “Group System”. Gazetted Second Lieutenant, July 1917.

Mitchell, Frederick Dod –

Son of Betsy Knowles Mitchell (nee Ward), of 18, Ivy Road, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Frederick Dod Mitchell. Gazetted Second Lieutenant, July 1917.

Mousir, George Ernest –

Son of James Mousir, of 17, Glynne Street, Farnworth, Lancashire; husband of Ellen Louisa Mousir (nee Long), of 19, Glynne Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted 05/11/1902 as Private 6316, 2nd Dragoon Guards, and later served as Private 5879. Discharged on termination of period of engagement 04/11/1915.

Smith, Frederick Baxter –

Son of Thomas Edward Smith, J.P. and Ellen Smith, of Dun Withins, Chorley New Road, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire. Gazetted Second Lieutenant, July 1917.

Young, James –

Husband of Annie Elizabeth Young (nee Wade), of Dinmore, Markland Hill Lane, Heaton, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 49, Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire. A physician and surgeon (MRCS & LRCP, 1888). Commissioned in the Volunteer Force. Interred in Deane Churchyard.
