Ashton, Ernest –

Son of Mary Jane Ashton, of 64, Cellini Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late George Brindle Ashton; husband of Agnes Ashton (nee Dolan), of 10, Gleaves Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Driver 592, 1st/18th Bty, 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, enlisted Bolton 12/05/1910 and discharged as time expired in 11/05/1916 after service in Egypt. Subsequently re-enlisted for further service with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Ashton, Frederick –

Husband of Emma Ann Ashton (nee Cope), of 6, Delph Hill, Doffcocker, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted 05/03/1915 at Bolton as Gunner 2968 in the 148th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery and discharged as not likely to make an efficient soldier 03/05/1915. Re-enlisted May 1915.

Ashworth, George William –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ashworth, of 31, Dobhill Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and formerly of 177, Lorne Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. A Salvation Army Bandsman. Enlisted June 1914. Formerly Private 1960, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded 1916 in face and ear. Father serving with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in German East Africa.

Ashworth, Jacob –

Husband of Mrs. Ashworth, of 118, Bridgewater Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1914. Killed by a trench mortar whilst on sentry duty.
