Son of George and Ellen Ashworth, of 34, Clammerclough Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Previously enlisted at Farnworth 19/04/1915 as Private 25525, 15th Bn., Sherwood Foresters and discharged 18/08/1915 as having made a mis-statement as to age on enlistment. Wounded 26/08/1916.

Ashworth, John Walker –

Of 33, Dean Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915. Caught as an absentee from Lytham since 24/04/1916 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 27/04/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27).

Son of John and Martha Ashworth, of 11, Hogkiss Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Attached Royal Engineers.

Ashworth, William –

Son of Mrs. Ashworth, of 18, Darley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Taken prisoner of war of the Germans 30/11/1917 at Cambrai and died from wounds the following February. His father and brother both also served in the Army.
