Son of John and Martha Gill, of 28, Cuerdale Street, Burnley; husband of Mary Jane Gill, of 3, Unwin Street, Burnley, Lancashire. Formerly 626, East Lancashire Regiment (Territorials), and 8601, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Missing since 10/01/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Gilliver, William Henry –

Husband of Jane Ellen Gilliver (nee Holt), of 9, Rock Fold, Cox Green, Turton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted at Bolton 19/09/1914 as Private 16653, 9th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and discharged 26/03/1915 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Subsequently re-enlisted. Home service only.

Gilmore, Patrick –

Of 3, All Saints Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 51, Hardy Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1915. Caught as an absentee from Whitstable since 29/11/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 04/12/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Gilpin, William –

Son of John and Emily Gilpin, of 6, Norman Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Five years with the Territorials before the outbreak of war. Killed by a rifle grenade. Victoria Wesleyans.

Son of Councillor Edward and Sarah Gittins, of 375, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Private 3847, 2nd/5th Bn., Seaforth Highlanders. Gazetted to Second Lieutenant November 1915.
