Gormley, John William –

Of 32, Green Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 11, All Saints Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported as an absentee from the Depot, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Preston since 09/08/1916 and from Felixstowe since 28/10/1916. Appeared before Bolton Magistrates 17/08/1916 and 02/11/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27).

Gornall, Richard Mason –

Son of the late William and Elizabeth Gornall (nee Charnley), of 46, Brougham Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Lydia Gornall (nee Swift), of 16, Fraser Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 18, Virgil Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Wounded in the neck July 1916. Formerly employed at the Horwich Loco Works.

Gornall, William –

Son of the late William and Elizabeth Gornall (nee Charnley), of 46, Brougham Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915, aged only 17.

Gorse, William –

Son of Jessie Gorse, and the late Henry Gorse; husband of Mrs. Jane Gorse, of 62, Kestor Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Missing since 31/07/1916. His brothers Arthur, Harry, and Joseph also served.

Gorse, Harry –

Son of Jessie Gorse, of 5, Raphael Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Henry Gorse. Of 12, Horsa Street, Tonge, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Lance Corporal 1716, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. His brothers Arthur and Joseph also served, and his brother William fell in action.

Second son of Mr. George Gorton, of Princess Road, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1905-1909). Enlisted September 1914. Wounded in the arm and knee.
