Halliwell, Herbert –

Of 84, Kent Road, Blackpool, Lancashire. Caught aged 21 as an absentee from Heaton Park since 15/06/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 17/06/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Halliwell, James –

Son of Hannah and the late John Halliwell, formerly of the Bridgewater Arms, Farnworth, Lancashire. Nephew of and resided with Mr. T. Stones, licensee of Black Horse Hotel, 57-59, Higher Market Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of Farnworth Grammar School. Memorial in Farnworth Cemetery.

Halliwell, John –

Son of Mrs. Halliwell, of 130, Blackburn Road, Egerton, Turton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. A brother was in North Wales in August 1917.

Halliwell, Richard –

Of 35, Nine House Lane, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a pavior’s labourer by the Bolton Corporation. Enlisted December 1915. Previously served nine years with the 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded by gunshots in the chest and arm in October 1915 and treated at Harrow Hall Hospital, Birkenhead.

Son of Elizabeth Marshall (formerly Halliwell), of 2, Eldon Street, Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and the late John Halliwell, and formerly of 26, Bent Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Killed at Messines Ridge.

Halliwell, Thomas William –

Son of James and Maria Halliwell, of 485, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Jane Cowcill Halliwell, of 45, Randal Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed a tram conductor. Previously served five years Loyal North Lancashire Regiment – time expired.

Hallows, Ernest –

Son of Mr. Joseph Hallows, of 23, High Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1916. Reported missing since 31/07/1917, and subsequently presumed killed.

Husband of Martha Hallwood, of 10, Wilding Street, Higher Croft, Barton, Lancashire. Formerly 11211, Manchester Regiment.
