Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Lytham since 27/12/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 31/12/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26). Wounded August 1916.

Son of John James and Isabella Haworth; husband of Elsie Cannon (formerly Haworth, nee Entwistle), of 117, Bolton Road, Edgworth, Turton, Lancashire. Formerly a newsagent in Edgworth. Formerly Private 5639, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of John and Margaret Haworth, of Westhoughton, Lancashire. Wrongley listed as killed in a war office list published by the BC in December 1916.

Haworth, Leonard –

Son of Counc. J. A. Haworth and Mrs. Haworth, of Glen Thorn, Bennetts Lane, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly in the Officer Training Corps. Attached to the Trench Mortar Section. Wounded by gunshot in the shoulder, August 1917.

Haydock, Charles –

Son of Alice and the late Richard Haydock, of 108, Liverpool Road, Hindley, Lancashire, and formerly of 11, Piggott’s Court, Hindley, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1915. Formerly Private 6823, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing 09/08/1916.

Haydock, Richard –

Son of Andrew and Sarah Haydock, of 8, Cannon Street North, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 9, Tower Street, Chapeltown, Lancashire. Formerly Private 7425, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Was on sentry duty when the trenches were attacked by a German raiding party. Although they were beaten off, Haydock was severely wounded and died soon after.

Of 245, Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, Turton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Bromley Cross. Captured prisoner of war on 18/04/1918 and held at Limburg, Germany. Brother William also serving in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
