Hodgkinson, John –

Son of Mrs. Harriet Hodgkinson, of 17, Calvert Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 30, Pennington Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 2970, 3rd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing from 30/11/1917, and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war at Limburg. Repatriated to the King George Hospital, London, in August 1918 due to shrapnel wound to hip and buttock, and amputation of the left leg. Reported in BJ&G and HODKINSON.

Hodgkiss, Frank Livsey –

Son of Livsey and Alice Ann Hodgkiss, of 224, Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of the Farnworth Grammar School. Enlisted October 1915, Private 14692, 2nd Bn., East Surrey Regiment. Served in Salonika. Commissioned 29/05/1918, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Posted to France attached King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment in September 1918.

Son of the late Samuel John Hodgkiss, builder, of 2, Castle Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Matilda Hodgkiss; husband of Sarah Ann Hodgkiss (nee Wolfendale), of 170, Egerton Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute. Sniper and Lewis Gunner. Gazetted to Second Lieutenant 30/01/1918. Died at 38th Casualty Clearing Station, France. Attached 2nd/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
