Son of Mrs. Ann Sugden (formerly Illidge), of 214, Lorne Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Edwin Illidge; husband of Mrs. Illidge, of 198, Lorne Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Lord Ellesmere’s Brackley Colliery. Enlisted November 1914.

Eldest son of Mrs. John Monks and stepson of Mr. John Monks, of 81, Nelson Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served 12 years with the Rifle Brigade at Chitral, Indian Frontier, and the South African Campaign, where he was wounded.
