Son of John and the late Orpha Ellen Barlow (nee Brooks), of 94, Darley Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire, and stepson of Mary Barlow (nee Chesworth). Formerly King’s Liverpool Regiment. Reported missing from 10/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Barlow, Arthur –

Son of Robert Thomas and Esther Barlow, of 73a, High Street, Little Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Joined up February 1917.

Barlow, Daniel –

Of 23, Cecilia Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded in July 1916 in the neck, shoulder and back, and treated at Bramshott Military Hospital. Formerly Sergeant 2913, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Surrendered aged 22 as an absentee from 4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Oswestry since 16/05/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/05/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28). Oxford Grove School. Younger brother serving in Salonika.

Of 6, Telford Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 24 as an absentee from 02/11/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 11/11/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Barlow, Frederick –

Younger of two soldiers sons of Mrs. E. Barlow, of 35, Waldeck Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 62, Queensgate, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Oxford Grove Council School.

Barlow, Harry –

Son of Edward Barlow, president of the Horwich branch of the Bleacher’s Association, and Sarah Ann Barlow, of 135, Crown Lane, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Cooke and Nuttall’s paper mill, and previously at Wallsuched bleachworks, and in the Horwich Chronicle office. Enlisted April 1916. Wounded in France and sent to Mesopotamia on recovery. On board the Cameronian when she was torpedoed. Brother with the Canadian Motor Transport Service.

Husband of Priscilla Barlow, of 40, Windley Street, Mill Hill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915.
