Son of Matthew Lawton, and Grandson of William and Martha Howard, of 2, Tonge Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Memorial in Kearsley (St. Stephen) Churchyard.

Lawton, William –

Brother of Mrs. Rosannah Chadwick, of 29, Parkfield Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded, shot through the knee at the Battle of the Aisne in 1914. Died in an accidental drowning whilst swimming in the sea at Felixstowe.

Husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Leach, of 42, Whittingham Street, Preston, Lancashire.

Leach, Thomas Edwin –

Son of John Thomas Leach, of 36, Abraham Street, Horwich, Lancashire, and the late Caroline Leach, formerly of, 4, Leicester Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Previously served with the Bolton Artillery. Reported missing since 15/06/1915 at Festubert, and subsequently presumed killed. A brother serving in France in the signal section of the Royal Engineers. Surname recorded as LEECH on CWGC.

Son of Amy Swift (formerly Leadbetter), of 24, Lynton Street, Salford, Lancashire, and the late Joseph Leadbetter. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.

Of 2, Court House, Portland Place, Liverpool, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

Leather, Joseph –

Son of William Henry and Elizabeth Leather, of 54, Crook Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Wounded by shrapnel in the back 02/08/1916 and died on the way to hospital after completing repairing a communication wire.
