Son of Walter and Esther Lightbown, of 119, Stoneclough Road, Stoneclough, Lancashire. Musketry Instructor.

Liles, Harry –

Of 42, Nuttall Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915.

Linaker, William –

Husband of Harriet Linaker (nee Durham), of 14, King Street, Farnworth, Lancashire.

Lindsay, Henry (Harry) –

Son of Joseph and Frances Lindsay, of Dene Mount, 212, Wigan Road, Bolton, Lancashire. M.A. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1902-1905). Gazetted Second Lieutenant, 4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in September 1914, promoted Lieutenant 17/07/1915 and to Captain 10/10/1915. Shot through the head and instantly killed.

Son of Thomas and Betsy Lindsay (nee Brooks); husband of Mary Ellen Lindsay (nee Christie), of 81, Peel Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Note:- Recorded as Robert on some of the military records.

Ling, James –

Husband of Mrs. Ling, of 69, Mount Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March / August 1915. Reported missing 13/01/1918 and subsequently identified as wounded and prisoner of war in Germany.
