Mainwaring, James Gray –

Son of Dennis Mainwaring, of Cote Farm, Edgworth, Lancashire, and the late Anne Mainwaring. Enlisted January 1915.

Makant, Angus Virtue –

Second son of John William Makant, J.P., and Florence Makant, of Gilnow Lodge, Bolton, Lancashire. Educated at Harrow and Clare College, Cambridge. B.A. (Cantab.). Well known as a cricketer and footballer. Gazetted second lieutenant 29/01/1910. Promoted Captain 23/12/1914. Shot and killed by a German sniper.

Son of Evan and Mary Makinson, of 12, Bottom-o’th’-Moor, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of Fawcett Hole Farm, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1916. Wounded seriously in the foot 18/08/1916 requiring several operations at hospital in Glasgow.
