McCardell, Harold –

Son of Leonard McCardell, of 15, Market Street, Stoneclough, Lancashire. Wounded by mustard gas, September 1917. Captured prisoner of war 10/04/1916.

McCarthy, Joseph –

Son of Mrs. McCarthy, of 21, Lime Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Reported missing at Cambrai since 02/08/1916, and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war. St. Gregory’s R.C. Church, Farnworth.

McCarthy, Hugh –

Husband of Mary Ann McCarthy (nee Harkin), of 16, Claughton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Served at the Siege of Ladysmith in the South African Campaign with the 1st Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment from the age of 17.
