Son of Thomas and Louisa Morris, of 23, Kylesmore Road, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Nellie Morris, of 7, Georgina Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Second of five soldier sons to fall in the war. Father served 16 years, a brother killed in the Dardanelles, one wounded in France and since discharged, and two other serving in Egypt. Also three cousins and a brother-in-law serving.
