Son of Martha Jane Nelson, of 11, Joseph Lee Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Suffered shellshock 19/05/1916. Later wounded by gunshot in right thigh resulting in amputation.

Son of Mr. Richard Nelson, of 136, Primrose Street, Kearsley, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Wounded by shrapnel in the right leg November 1915. Captured prisoner of war 18/04/1918.

Of 9, Jauncey Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught as a deserter from Tidsworth since 20/11/1914 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 11/12/1914 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25).
