Rigg, Henry –

Arrested as a deserter from the 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Discovered to have bigamously married a widow, Hetty Hester Morgan, of 9, Spring View, Wrexham, Denbighshire on 23/12/1916 while his present wife was still alive. Remanded at Wrexham.

Riley, Fred –

Of 8, McDonna Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 6, Rushey Fold Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Caught aged 19 as a deserter from Weeton Camp since 25/08/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates Court 13/09/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Of 267, Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, Turton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Wounded by gunshots in the chest and knee in a charge on 08/08/1916. Wounded again in the arm and foot 09/12/1916

Husband of Mary Ellen Riley, of 9, Union Road, Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 96, Spring Gardens, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a fireman of the Bolton County Borough Fire Brigade. Hospitalised in March 1917 by gas poisoning.
