Eldest son of Benjamin and Emily Thornley, of 64, Hilden Street, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Ruth Eleanor Thornley, of 690, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute. Enlisted October 1914. Formerly 2662 / 248840, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Commissioned 25/01/1917. Wounded in the right foot and left arm 31/07/1917 and in hospital at Edinburgh.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Thornley, of 11, Broughton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 4926, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. A reservist activated at the outbreak of war. Reported missing since 08/08/1916. Prisoner of war.

Thorpe, Lawrence –
