Husband of Sarah Alice Wardley (nee Holt), of 2, Chapel Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, and formerly of 26, Cawley Street, Pendleton, Salford. Enlisted at Manchester 19/08/1914 as Private 4932, 6th B., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and later 11622, 8th Bn., Welsh Regiment. and discharged 02/04/1915 as medically unfit. Re-enlisted Bolton 15/05/1915, wounded in the head on 30/06/1916 and discharged 11/09/1917 due to Bronchitis. Died aged 34 years on 04/11/1917, and interred at Farnworth Cemetery 08/11/1917.
