Of 172, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1915. Caught aged 35 as an absentee from Lytham since 18/10/1915 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 21/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26). Reported as Henry in BJ&G.

Winterbottom, William –

Son of William and Sarah Ellen Winterbottom, of 21, Colenso Road, Tonge Fold, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Winterbottom, of 137, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August 1914. Formerly Private 1989, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing since 09/04/1918, subsequently confirmed as wounded and prisoner of war at Limburg, Germany.

Winterbottom, Benjamin –

Husband of Mrs. Winterbottom, of 57, Arkwright Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 6, Prosperous Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3805, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported missing since 30/11/1917 at Cambrai, and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war at Dulmen.

Winterbottom, James –

Son of William and Sarah Ellen Winterbottom, of 21, Colenso Road, Tonge Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Mobilised as a Territorial August 1914. Formerly Private 1988, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported wounded and missing since 30/11/1917, and subsequently presumed killed. His father William served with the Royal Defence Corps. A brother William was prisoner of war in Hanover, Germany.

Winward, Benjamin –

Husband of Mrs. Winward, of 9, Church Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. 19 years service in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in 1914.

Of 33, Holden Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 2941, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Prisoner of war at Dulmen. Repatriated 07/12/1918.
