Of 216, Thomas Street, West Gorton, Lancashire. Caught as an absentee from Felixstowe since 09/10/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 14/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Brotherton (Bretherton), John Kearsley –

NOTE:- Served as John Kearsley BRETHERTON. Husband of Mrs. Brotherton, of 26, Greenhalgh Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing from 09/04/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Recorded as Brotherton in the local newspapers, but as Bretherton on CWGC, SDGW, Medal Roll, etc.
