Of 705, Blackburn Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Enlisted April 1915, South Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 16 as a deserter from Oswestry since 02/05/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 07/05/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28).

Missing since 30/11/1917 and subsequently prisoner of war at Dulmen. Two brothers killed and two wounded.
