Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stirrup, of 70, Manchester Road West, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Formerly Private 19295, 1st Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in September 1915. Reported missing since 10/07/1917 and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war in Germany.
