Surrendered aged 19 as an absentee from Grantham since 17/08/1917 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 24/08/1917 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/28). Worthington, Zebulon –

Son of Zebulon and Sarah Ann Worthington, of 9, Alice Street, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 2282, 2nd Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancashire Regiment. Wounded with fractured leg in October 1915 when sandbags were blown on him by shell explosion. Served in Mesopotamia.

Wright, Walter –

Son of George and Marian Wright, of 25, Buxton Street, Waterloo Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Charlotte Wright. Enlisted April 1915, South Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 19 as an absentee from Grantham since 11/01/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 15/01/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Young, of 45, Davenport Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Enlisted September 1914, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Commissioned December 1916. Reported missing since 16/05/1917 and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war at Karlsruhe, Germany.
