Son of the late Mr. W. Calverley, of Bridgeman Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Of Rishton Lane, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Enlisted September 1915. Formerly Private, Manchester Regiment. Commissioned December 1915. Gazetted Lieutenant-Quartermaster to 3rd/3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Carey, George –

Son of James and Elizabeth Carey, of 3, Apple Terrace, Horace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Brownlow Fold Council School. Enlisted 1914. Formerly Private 3218, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in the ear by a rifle grenade 20/06/1915. Five brothers served in France.

Carley, James –

Of 1, Wood Street, Manchester, Lancashire. Caught aged 33 as an absentee from attachment to the 3rd Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Felixstowe since 15/03/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 28/03/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Carter, Stanley –

Son of Thomas and the late Alice Carter (nee Occleston). Resided with his sister at 24, Eden Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Age wrongly recorded as 20 years on CWGC, but born in 1898. Died at Malta.
