Son of Joseph and Lilla Higginbottom, of 12, Mill Brow, Worsley, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a clerk at the Bridgewater Offices. Enlisted August 1914. Captured prisoner of war April 1918 at St. Quentin. Died from influenza in the Imperial Fortress Hospital, Strasbourg.

Higgins, John –

Of 11, Irving Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 40 as an absentee from Stallingborough since 04/09/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 24/09/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
